Back to School with Jimmy Dean

I can’t believe the summer is almost over and school is right around the corner. My son is so excited for this school year. He’ll be starting a new school that’s closer to our home, and it’s also a school where many more of the neighborhood kids go. He can’t wait to start back. And even though I’ll be sad to see him go. it’ll be nice to have some more one on one time with the baby.

With a new baby in the house, I know that our morning school routine is going to be a lot different. Last week we got a little taste of how things were going to work when my son was in summer camp. And since my son is going to be in 2nd grade now, he’s such a big helper and can do a lot of things on his own.

I try to keep our morning routines on school days as simple as possible. I lay out his school uniform, he takes a bath before bed, and packs his lunch the night before. So the only things left to do in the morning are get dressed, fix his hair, brush his teeth, and of course breakfast!

I like to keep lots of breakfast options in the house. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, right? And for those super busy mornings, I love having Jimmy Dean® Sausage, Egg & Cheese Croissant Sandwiches in my freezer. My whole family loves them and there so easy. Some times i think they purposefully run late so we get to microwave those wonderful breakfast sandwiches.

Jimmy Dean® products and State Fair® corndogs (my go-to after school snack) are always available at an Every Day Low Price at Walmart in the freezer aisle. I love that they’re easy for Julien to make too. He can just pop them in the microwave and have his own hot breakfast ready in minutes. And he loves them too, even though he’s a pretty picky eater when ut comes to breakfast foods. This is going to come in handy with the new baby in the next few months.

I got a great value at Walmart on these Jimmy Dean® Sausage, Egg & Cheese Croissant Sandwiches. We also love their Pancakes & Sausage on a Stick. So delicious! And for after school sanctum, you can see my son has his favorite State Fair® corndogs below. Everyone in the family loves them, and they’re so quick and easy to make! Just heat in the microwave and serve with fresh fruit or veggie snacks.
