Curry Split Peas Baby Food

This was actually my son’s favorite baby food, he ate so much curried split peas, you wouldn’t believe it. It was so funny!

Curry Split Peas Baby Food Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 16 oz bag of green split peas
  • 1/4 teaspoon yellow curry powder (no salt)

Method

  1. Rinse peas in a colander under running water for 1 minute, then soak them in 2 cups of water for 2 hours. Then place the peas and their water in a saucepan and add curry powder. Bring to boil over high heat, then reduce heat to medium and continue to cook until very tender.
  2. Then remove from heat and use a submersible blender to puree. Pureeing can also be done in batches in the blender. Let mixture cool, then poor into ice cube trays, be careful not to overfill individual ice cube compartments. Freeze for at least 4 hours or overnight, then you can store each baby food cube in zippered freezer bags.
