Italian Sausage Turkey Burgers

I can’t take credit for this recipe at all. Although I’d love to, it’s such a brilliant idea. I asked my son the other day what he wanted for dinner and he told me hamburgers. I asked what he wanted on them and he said cheese, and then I asked what else. Then he says sausage with so much enthusiasm. I looked at him a little funny and said sausage on top or in the meat. He says without a thought, inside! So this is what I interpreted his little 3-year old burger idea as, a big juicy burger that tastes like a sweet Italian sausage. Instead of making them with pork, I made them a little more healthy by using ground turkey. I topped them with mozzarella and served them like a traditional burger.

These were the best turkey burgers I’ve had. Adding sausage seasoning makes you forget your eating a low fat turkey burger.
