Mason Jar Toothpick Dispenser
Since I bake so much in my kitchen, I’m always reaching for a toothpick to check the doneness of cakes. But for some reason I can never find my toothpick dispenser, or when I do find it, it’s empty. It’s really annoying to me. Those little toothpick dispensers drive me nuts. So I decided to make a big, easy to use, easy to find toothpick dispenser that was cute enough to leave out on the counter.
So I reached for a little jelly jar (since it was about the height of my toothpicks), got my hammer and a nail, and put a few holes in the lid to make a little toothpick shaker. It works great, and is a very attractive addition not only to country kitchens, but also to many other types of decor too. You can make your little toothpick dispenser even cuter by adding a bow or painting it, but I think it’s pretty cute (and extremely functional) as is.

Angie, My toothpick box is forever dumping out into the drawer. I’m going to have the kids help me do this today.
I just LOVE this
and almost anything else you can put in a mason jar and make functional. Great idea!
