Summer Vacations, Jif To Go Packs and a Giveaway

~Contest is closed, congrats to Mary and Katherine. I’ve emailed you.~

I have a new giveaway from Jif (for 2 lucky readers) that includes a brand new Garmin GPS navigation for your car, a $50 Autozone gift card, new Jif to go packs and much more.

Have you taken a summer vacation this year yet?  We went on a very short summer vacation a few weeks ago, just for the weekend. We took a road trip up to Jekyll island to go camping for the weekend. It was my son’s first camping trip. It’s about a 4 hour drive, sometimes more depending on traffic. That’s a long time to keep a little 3 year old busy. We took a few salty snacks and juice boxes along for the ride. In the car I was trying to think of little busy games to keep his mind busy. We played I-spy, count the tractor trailers, and count a certain color car. Like blue, red or white cars.

When we finally got there, we got all set up. Julien was too happy.

It didn’t take him long until he was ready for dinner either –

See that old tent in the background. We had forgotten how old it really was, it leaked, and we ended up at Target later that evening purchasing this monster.

And of course all new sleeping bags too because they also got soaked. Later that night and the next the extremely overfed and obese raccoons of the Jekyll island campground tried to open our tent I don’t know how many times. We had no food in the tent or around the camp site, it was all locked in the truck. They were way too friendly. They did eat our neighbor camper’s food though, every last bit of it. Mayabe they were trying to share with us 🙂

The next day we drove and walked all around the island. Enjoying the sites, some miniature golf, and most importunately the gorgeous beaches.

For the long car ride up there, and on the way back, I was pretty much able to pass the time by playing little games with my son, and providing snacks. It was easy to keep him busy once we got there. There was so much to do and discover.  Family vacations are something we treasure and try to do as often as possible.

Jif  has some tips to help you kick off the summer season right and make vacations easy and fun for the entire family:

·         Get the whole family involved in planning getaways and have each person choose at least one activity so everyone is looking forward to the trip.

·         Bring travel-friendly snacks everyone loves, like Jif To Go Peanut Butter.  Each 1.5-ounce cup is perfect for dipping while you minimize mess and maximize portability.

·         Play travel-related games such as I-spy or license plate bingo.  They’re a great way to pass the time and keep the entire family entertained.

These new Jif To Go packs make the perfect little travel peanut butter cups for kids. They’re great for the car or to put in their school lunch boxes. Just take along some pretzels, other crackers or a fresh cut apple to to go along with it. They are also great for camping, just don’t leave any in reach of the racoons!

Jif wants to make your summer vacation the best one ever. They have provided us with an amazing giveaway package for 2 lucky readers that includes a Garmin GPS for your car and a $50 AutoZone gift card, and so much more.
