Turning 30 and Skin Changes and $100 Visa Card Giveaway

This is sponsored content from BlogHer and Olay.

Turning 30 and Skin Changes and $100 Visa Card GiveawayThis past September I hit a milestone, I turned 30. There are so many negative things people say about turning 30. It seems I heard all during my twenties, “Oh your just a baby, but just wait until you hit 30, and then it’s all downhill.” From wrinkles to weight gain, and arthritis to other aches and pains people forewarned me about, it seemed turning 30 was going to be a disaster. Well, my birthday has come and went and I haven’t put on a ton of weight, I didn’t get a sudden onset of arthritis, and I don’t ache more than I did before. I have noticed though, changes in my skin. Of course, I know these changes have been slowly occurring since my early twenties, but with my 30th birthday, I seem to be noticing them a little more.

Turning 30 and Skin Changes and $100 Visa Card GiveawayI was so happy when I was asked to try Olay’s newest moisturizer, total effects 7 in 1 anti-aging moisturizer plus cooling hydration. Olay 7 in 1 reduces the appearance of fine lines, soothes dry skin with refreshment, gives skin a healthy radiance, smoothes and evens skin texture, minimizes the appearance of pores, helps prevent damage to skin surface, and hydrates for firmer skin appearance. The new cooling hydration lotion has a vitamin and mint-extract complex that is very refreshing and cooling to the skin.

I have been using it a just for a few days, and my skin already feels better. Here is a candid shot, just for you: no make-up, no filters, no photoshop, and as shadowy as possible light to really make those wrinkles pop. (By the way, don’t critique the photographer too much, it was a self portrait.) As you can see I have those fine lines, puffy dark circles, and pimples. Not to mention the redness, acne scars, huge pores, and age spots that I refer to as large freckles. I haven’t been consistent with any skin regimen lately. I will frequently slather on the same lotion I use on my body on my face, and usually only use my benzoyl peroxide when I have a breakout.

For the past couple of days, I have been using this new Olay 7 in 1 moisturizer plus cooling hydration in conjunction with a thin layer of 2.5% benzoyl peroxide, to kill my acne bacteria.  This new Olay 7 in 1 moisturizer feels really good on the skin. It is light-weight and non-greasy. It moisturizes well and absorbs quickly. The cooling hydration component of this lotion gives you a nice refreshing feeling that really does last all day. The smell is also very pleasant. The cream comes in an easy to use pump dispenser that makes application easier. I have been using the cream on my face, neck, chest and hands. I can already see a huge difference in the tops of my hands.

Thankfully, the dreaded changes that I was forewarned about turning 30 weren’t nearly as bad as I once feared them to be. With the help of a good moisturizer, like Olay, I am sure I can help to slow the aging process, and keep a youthful glow.

Have you had any changes in your life that have caused changes in your skin? Maybe a new baby, a birthday, getting married, or another stressful but exciting experience?  Please tell me about it in the comments section below for a chance to win a $100 Visa Card.

Feel like your moisturizer’s fresh feeling can’t last all day? New Olay Total Effects Cooling Hydration instantly cools and leaves skin with a moisturized fresh feeling that lasts from morning to night. The lightweight formula also fights 7 signs of aging for younger looking skin.

My skin hasn’t changed because of any traumatic event. But my skin has become a bit dryer.

By the way, don’t stress about turning 30. IMO women start to come into their beauty after 30. They stop worrying about perceived imperfections as much, and they become more confident and sure of themselves. That is what truly makes a woman beautiful.

Its funny, but just the other day I took a picture of myself in a new hat and really really noticed the lines around my eyes and on my forehead…they just appeared…LOL I turned 37 this past August and have really noticed this change, especially when my skin is dry like it is currently due to the cold.

at 39 I feel like I look pretty good…most of my wrinkles are puffed out with fat LOL…I do have all gray hair though…have since my late 20s though. the biggest thing I have noticed is that my once firm biceps are a bit less firm and I’m getting jowls!
