Holiday time is my site’s busiest time of year. Everyone is searching for that special holiday recipe to make for the holidays, and I’m no exception. I spend way more time searching for recipe ideas during the holidays, especially holiday desserts.
I’ve recently found the new Food & Drink App and am just loving it. It’s a great way to search for recipes. It has so much inspiration and instruction from your tablet to the table, featuring recipes, an extensive wine guide, instructional videos, and hands-free interaction with recipes while cooking. There’s thousands of recipes to search through with amazing photographs in the app from premium content providers such a leading cookbooks, world renowned chefs and trusted websites.
Below are some of my screenshots when I was searching for new holiday desserts.
I just love how all the photos are laid out. It’s so much better than just looking at a list of recipe titles. Pictures say so much more, don’t they?
I think I found a recipe my family will love. This pretty holiday bundt cake. Isn’t it pretty? It’s packed full of spices, pumpkin and apples! I’m sure I can make a few changes to the the recipe to tailor it to my family’s specific tastes. I’ll probably replace the pumpkin with apple sauce and add some orange zest too.
I also found this amazing Chocolate Amaretti Roulade. I can’t wait to try this one. I haven’t had the best luck with rolled cakes like this, but I’m definitely willing to try again, Even if this breaks to pieces, it’s still going to taste like heaven on a plate.
Worried about getting your tablet dirty? Not a problem with this app. You can navigate through a recipe with a wave of the hand. Activate Hands-Free mode in a recipe and use your device’s camera to move through the instructional steps with a wave.
This app isn’t just recipes either. Step by step instructional guides and videos will offer you culinary tips and techniques to improve your kitchen skills. You can learn new techniques suck as searing, poaching or braising.
Do you like to plan your menu for the week? Add it to a Collection to cook later, or a Meal Planner for this week. Select ingredients to create a shareable Shopping List.
You can even find the perfect bottle of wine to accompany your dinner while browsing 1.5 million bottles with 3.3 million tasting notes or a couple hundred cocktail recipes. That’s a ton!
