After School Snack Time with State Fair Corndogs
My son has such a huge appetite for such a little guy. At 7, I’ve seen him eat a whole footlong meatball sub, and then look for more food. And he’s a skinny kid too. It’s incredible. I mean how can a 55 lb kid eat as much as a grown man. And is his appetite going to double? Possibly triple by the time he’s a teenager? Oh my!
At least for now I can satisfy his hunger when it’s at it’s worst: after school. I have to be sure that either I have food ready for him, or something in the freezer that can be heated quickly. His favorite treat is a State Fair® corndog. And I love them too. They’re one kid food that I can never pass up. They make the perfect after school snack because they’re easy for us to microwave quickly and pair well with other fruit and vegetable snacks.
I like to serve these delicious corndogs with a honey mustard dipping sauce and fresh apple slices and grapes. I’ve also served them with celery and carrots and also orange and pear slices. I always make sure to include lots of fruit or vegetables to make sure he’s eating a balanced snack. This gives him the fuel he needs to do homework and for some after school playtime in the backyard.
State Fair® corndogs come in a 22 count package at Walmart where they are always available at an Every Day Low Price in the freezer aisle. My son knows just where they’re located too. Having a large package of corndogs means I always have enough to feed a crowd too, you know just in case friends or teammates come over after school. Kids are always hungry!
