This is a quick and easy alternative recipe for green bean casserole. It looks adorable and couldn’t be simpler to do. Just wrap up some green beans in bacon, and then bake.
This recipe developed for Babble’s Family Kitchen.
Yield: Serves 4
Green Beans, washed and snapped, about 1/4 pound per person
Bacon, sliced in half, 2 – 3 slices per 1/4 pound
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Wash green beans. Snap off brown ends. Take long bacon pieces and cut in half. Take 6 green beans and bundle together. Place green beans on a bacon slice and just roll up. Place seam side down on a cookie sheet.
Note: This recipe leaves the green beans crunchy, and we all know some family members only like soft vegetables. Just boil the green beans first before wrapping them up in the bacon to get softer green beans. 10 minutes in boiling water should do the trick.
