It’s the beginning of December and our family’s schedule is packed full of holiday activities. I was out all morning trying to get new slacks and dress shoes for the kids for tomorrow’s Christmas program, and then grocery shopped at Publix. I haven’t yet begun to think about Christmas shopping. I really felt like mom of the year when I ran into a friend this morning that was finishing up her holiday shopping, so jealous!
I have started making gift lists and getting ideas together for what I’ll be getting everyone this year. I start with the easiest gifts first; those were the homemade cookie jar mixes I’ll be finishing this week. Then I move on to friends and family, and then close family and friends. Those are the hardest because I know them so well. I always feel like the more you know someone, the harder it is to buy for them. I have a list started for each family member and friend with lots of ideas.
The next few weeks are full of holiday get-togethers too. And I’ll be needing some fun, delicious recipes that make lots of servings and are super quick to make. A few days ago I found this new recipe for Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheerios™ Chex™ Muddy Buddies™. It’s sweet, salty, nutty and so very chocolaty!
Chex Mix is my favorite go-to dish for parties and get-togethers. I always make it for us to snack on. Everyone loves it. It’s so amazing! When I was a kid, I only knew about the traditional Chex Mix recipe that’s salty, savory and perfect. But did you know there are also sweet Chex Mix Muddy Buddies recipes that are equally amazing?
The latest amazing Chex Mix recipe I’ve found is this Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheerios Chex Muddy Buddies recipe. This recipe is so delicious! You can serve it at parties, get-togethers or any other holiday festivities you have planned this month. You can even jar it up, wrap it with a ribbon and give it as a gift. Or simply fill your cookie jars with this stuff, because it’s that good!
This recipe is very simple to make. You start with either Rice or Corn Chex cereal and add chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter to a large bowl and melt them in the microwave. Then you stir in a little McCormick® Pure Vanilla and coat the Chex Mix in the chocolate peanut butter mixture. Then, toss it in powdered sugar and add Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheerios™ cereal, Planters® salted cocktail peanuts, and some miniature peanut butter cups cup in half.
It’s super simple to make, and kids love to help make this and most of all, eat it!
I found all the ingredients for this recipe at my local Publix at a great price. You can find Chex cereal and Chocolate and Peanut Butter Cheerios in the center of your local Publix store. Shopping at Publix, especially during the holiday season is such a pleasure! They always have lots of friendly, helpful employees to help you find the items you need. And best of all, they always have lots of cashiers this time of year, so I’m in and out quickly!
