I have a “to-travel-to” list a mile long. Fortunately, we’ve been able to scratch off a few must see places on that list, although I wish it were more. Several years ago, we were able to cross off the number one destination on our list, Paris.
We did so much the week we visited Paris from visiting different churches, museums and staying out late having fun. One thing we learned the hard way through, New York may never sleep, but Paris does. They shut down public transport in the wee hours of the morning. So whatever place you stumble out of drunk after midnight, good luck getting back where you’re staying.
The one thing I miss about Paris is the simple ham and cheese sandwiches available on every street corner. They were simple, perfect and always hit the spot. So now whenever I find myself missing Paris, I just make one of these simple, yet perfect sandwiches.
For this sandwich, I used my new favorite Swiss cheese, Lorraine. This premium specialty cheese has a delightfully creamy flavor and a lacy, light texture that stacks beautifully on deli platters, heroes, hoagies and crackers. And at only 75 mg per serving, Lorraine® cheese is naturally low in sodium but still deliciously full-flavored. You can find Lorraine cheese in pre-sliced packages or sliced to order from the deli counter.
