Last Call for Florida Prepaid!

florida prepaid open enrollment

Are you a procrastinator like me? Have you failed to sign up your sweet child or grandchild for Florida prepaid? If so that’s okay, there’s still time to signup for Florida Prepaid.

If you’ve already signed up, that’s great! You’re kids will be so appreciative that they won’t be burdened with student loans when they graduate from college. What an amazing gift!

You have until the end of February to sign up in Open Enrollment. And don’t forget that you can still use my code, Recipe1718 to save $25 off your application fee.

If you’ve been hesitant about enrolling in Florida prepaid, I’m here to debunk a few common myths that you may have.

Myth #1: Florida Prepaid is restricted to Florida schools.

Fact: It isn’t restricted to Florida schools; the amount covered by your Prepaid Plan can be used at schools nationwide.

This is great for families that aren’t sure what the future holds when it comes to where they’ll be living. Having that piece of mind that you can use funds anywhere is wonderful.

Myth #2: Florida Prepaid can only be used if my child remains a Florida resident.

Fact: If the beneficiary moves out of Florida after purchasing a Prepaid Plan, your child would still be billed at in-state tuition rates when using their plan at a Florida college or state university.

This is great to know, because those out of state tuition rates are crazy high!

Myth #3: If my child doesn’t go to college, I lose all that money.

Fact: If your child doesn’t go to college, you can change the beneficiary of the Prepaid Plan or get your money back.

This is great. And did you know if your child gets full Florida Academic State Scholarships, or any other full scholarship, you’ll get all the money back too! And then you can use that cash to fund housing, car expenses for your kid or whatever!
