Mustard Fried Pork Chops

Summer is winding down and the kids are back in school after a long summer of tons of fun. The kids have been back in school for just a few weeks, and I think this is going to be one amazing school year. I could not ask for better teachers.

It’s been pretty busy getting the kids to different schools, them having different schedules and all the other little kid errands. I seem to be figuring it out now though. It definitely doesn’t leave much time to make dinner. So I’m always on the hunt for the quickest, tastiest meals I can put together quickly.

My family isn’t a big fan of pork chops that is unless they are crispy fried. So I like to find different types of fried pork chop recipes. This is actually a recipe from my good friend’s mom from way back when. She used to only mustard fry her pork chops and they were just amazing!

This is a super simple recipe, so the quality of ingredients really makes a difference. I start with lean medium thickness pork chops (not the super thin or really thick ones).

Then I season simply with salt fresh cracked pepper garlic and onion powder.

The most important seasoning with these pork chops is the mustard. Using quality mustard really makes a difference in your recipes. That’s why I loved to use Colman’s Mustard. It’s incredibly full of flavor spicy hot.

But this mustard is not the kind of hot that burns your tongue and throat. Colman’s is more of a nose hot. It’s so incredibly delicious. It’s like wasabi and cayenne had a mustard baby. It’s just simply perfection and can be used in lots of different recipes to really bring out the heat.

Colman’s has both a dry and prepared mustard like the one I have used here that can be used in tons of different recipes like BBQ rubs, meatloaves, salmon burgers and so much more!

I just brush these chops with Colman’s Prepared Mustard.

This makes them so yummy! It’s a bit of a hot mess though!

Then you just bread with some seasoned flour. I like to just season my flour with just salt and pepper. It’s simple and delicious!

You get left with one hot mess to clean up, but it’s worth it!

Then I deep-fry to deep golden brown crispy perfection. Yummy!

This recipe is perfect for friends and family too. I love to make these for a crowd because they are such a hit! People love these just as much as my yummy fried chicken! And you can make just about any side with them like green salad, potato salad or my favorite summer side, 3-bean salad!
