Pantry Organization {OXO POP Giveaway}

oxo

I am really one of the most unorganized people ever. I seem pretty put together on the outside. Then you catch a glimpse at the inside of my purse, car or house and realize I have no idea what I’m doing. I spend way to much time during the day searching for keys, wallet, glasses and whatever else I need right then. I can never seem to remember where I put just about anything, including things in my kitchen.

Now I can’t show you the before, because I’m just too embarrased. But trust me, it looked like a hurricane and earthquake just came through my pantry. With all the work going on in my kitchen with updating everything, I knew I had to do something about the pantry, so I turned to OXO for some help.

Pull-Out Pantry

I already had a pretty good size walk-in pantry. I opted not to paint the wood trim or wood shelves because almost all paint chips on shelves, and I didn’t want to have to deal with re-painting. In addition to this pantry, I also have a pull-out for all my extra jarred items, coffee, teas and spices. Then I have another spice cabinet beside the stove for all the basics plus medicines which we keep out of reach and in a common area so the little one doesn’t climb and sneak too many vitamins (yes I’m a little overprotective).

So my walk-in pantry is where I put in most of the work. I utilized the existing peg board Julia Child style and put some of my favorite pans on display. Then I placed all my boxed and bagged baking items on the top shelf to the left.

Then canned goods on the second shelf. I grouped all like items together. I couldn’t believe I had at least 10 cans of olives. I may have a problem. Then on the second shelf I placed all my baking goods in OXO POP Containers. These containers are so awsome. They have a great seal and are even stackable. If I had more than whet fit in the container, I put the extra behind the container, so nothing gets lost now.

On the next shelf I placed all my pasta, rice and grains in OXO POP containtes too. I ran out of caontainers when I go to my beans, so I just used quart glass jars for them.

On the other side of the pantry, I placed things I don’t use that often on the top shelf like the turkey pan, an electric skillet, my pressure cooker and canner. I have some seasonal baking supplies hidden in the basket in the far corner. The second shelf has lots of different things, plus the cookies, crackers and red vines.

On the second and fourth shelfs, I placed alot of things my son likes such as his cereal, snacks, nuts, dried fruits and of course the goldfish! He loves having all these goodies within his reach.
