Pear and Hazelnut Crisp
I do love to make crisps. This one is perfect with pears and a oat and hazelnut topping. I served this over coffee ice cream, and it was really good. If you love hazelnut coffee creamer, you’ll love this combination.
Yield: Serves 4
Pear and Hazelnut Crisp
Ingredients:
8 pears, pealed, cored and sliced (I used Bartlett)
1/2 cup brown sugar
For Topping
1 stick butter, or 1/2 cup, cut in pats
1 cup flour
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup hazelnuts
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine Sliced Pears with brown sugar and set aside. In a food processor, add flour, oats, hazelnuts, brown sugar and salt. Pulse until well combined, and hazelnuts are in small pieces. Add butter pats and pulse until dough comes together.
2. Place pears and brown sugar in a 9 x 13 baking dish. Crumble topping over pears. Bake until crisp has lightly browned, about 30 – 40 minutes.
