Turkey Bacon Wrapped Hot Dogs in Lettuce Wraps

This summer is flying by way too fast. I’ve had so many things that I wanted to do, but they always seem to get pushed to the back burner when I see that relaxing pool we have in the backyard. Most of our days are spent playing in the water and in the backyard treehouse. My daughter loves to discover new little treasures in the backyard. Little insects, butterflies and pretty birds are her favorite to chase.
Because we’re spending so much time in the backyard this summer, we’re also grilling quite a bit. It’s so much easier for me to make dinner, and sometimes even breakfast and lunch too outside on the grill. We’ve got lots of favorite things to make on the grill like ribs, chicken and fancy kabobs, but some days just call for fun and simple hot dogs.
My favorite go-to hot dogs are Ball Park® Bun Size Beef Franks. They’re made with quality beef and perfectly sized for hot dog buns. They have a wonderful big, bold taste that makes them perfect for the grill. You can simply grill them up, and serve them in a bun, in a tortilla for taco dogs, or in lettuce wraps like I’ve done here.
A good friend made me bacon wrapped hot dogs last summer and I loved them! However, I wanted to make them a little lower in fat, so I started making them with turkey bacon. They taste just as decadent, but aren’t nearly as high in calories.
To save more calories and keep those carbs low, I serve these in lettuce wraps. These Ball Park® Hot Dogs taste so good we never even miss the bun. I also serve some good pickles and baked beans on the side too. It makes the perfect kid-friendly summer dinner.
Ball Park Bun Size Beef Hot Dogs are available at Walmart. I got a great value on these Ball Park® Hot Dogs today at Walmart, and was also able to get all the other sides to go along with dinner for a great price. We even picked up some snorkel gear with all the money we saved!
